Today is a sad day.
And happy together, we understand.
But I'm sad because it's all over.
Almost.
I usually write these memories at the end of the day.
I wait for the last tear of the day to slide on the quilted pillow of stars, then I beat the keys silently, collecting memories and, above all, embroidering emotions.
So it ends up that I've been going sleeping at 4.00 a.m. for a week. When it's OK, because last Sunday we did not sleep.
But the TOR is just that: little or no sleep, absurd and exquisite food, friends who until yesterday were just strangers. And of which today you seem to no longer be able to do without.
And pebbles, fatigue, height, sweat, bags packed with dirty laundry, dusty shoes, scratched sticks, sun on the skin.
And again: dreams, dreams, dreams.
And kilometers, valleys, smiles, last rounds of drinks, cigarettes you promised not to smoke anymore.
I will not stop repeating it: every year is different. Every year the emotion is stronger.
Twelve months ago I stayed here until the end of the award ceremony. Grab the list of finisher, from the first to the last,
I got emotional from the group's tummy, I returned home full of memories, photographs, splinters of dreams under the skin.
Today I do not think I will remain.
I finish the piece, greet friends and go back to the plain.
Not because we're tired or fed up, we're not joking.
Because today the emotion is a bit 'too strong. I did not think you would miss me so much, blessed TOR.
But I have a broken heart.
But I'll make you a promise.
I do it to all of you, who fought with the giants and you came out victorious.
In twelve months I will still be here.
With the same face mistreated by the sun, my shoes stuck with dust and my desire for bows, necks, stones and endless emotions.
Before going, however, thanks are a must. Like every year, there are many people without whom my high altitude dream would not be possible.
So thank you Alessandra, Franco, Ettore, Mien, Benny, Faith.
Thanks Andra, Marco and Gau.
Thanks Silvana, Sandra.
Thanks Giulia and thanks Valeria.
Thanks to all of you, Giants with an infinite heart.
And bye, TOR.
I love you.
